How to run a reading
- Ask the question. Type it on the Q: line so the fact-check knows what they were answering (optional).
- Tap REC while they answer, then STOP. Or tap UPLOAD RECORDING for a phone call or voice memo. Up to a minute counts; longer clips let you pick the minute that matters.
- Read the ticket. The stamp says CAP, SUS or NO CAP, with the chance it's true and the math behind it. If it's cap, the alarm goes off and one of six voices calls it.
What the score is
Chance it's true = what was said, fact-checked, then moved by voice stress. The words are checked with a live web search and two separate AI judges who score the claim from the same evidence; if they disagree by 25 points or more it's a split decision and they're averaged. The voice is measured on the device for stress the ear can't catch: pitch, tension, jitter, shimmer, the 8–12 Hz micro-tremor and speaking rate, against 1,206 real answers from 18 speakers. Under 40% is CAP, 40–60% is SUS, over 60% is NO CAP. Voice alone never calls CAP.
A lie about a checkable fact gets caught by the fact-check. A claim only the speaker can know can't be looked up, so the judges and the voice give a lean, not proof. CAPENATOR is a game, not evidence.
Two people on the recording?
When a clip has more than one voice, the machine asks who is in the hot seat. Only that person's words and voice are scored.
The AI lamp blinks red
The fact-check could not be reached, so the ticket shows the voice reading only. Check your connection and run it again.
